Established in August 02, 1967, the original church was designed by National Artist for Architecture Leandro Locsin which served the community of Magallanes for 36 years, and in 2001 a talked-about adoration chapel was incorporated at the rear of the church. But in September 2004, the church, as well as the newly built adoration chapel, was consumed by a fire leaving nothing but the hallow concrete butresses.
The church was then re-built in 2007 led by the parish priest Fr. Benito Tuazon. The current structure is a modern architecture which encorporated the original design, a perfectly square floor plan diagonally laid out such that the main entrance is sitauted in the northwest corner. The main door is made of solid narra wood with carvings of the life and death of Jesus Christ made from the woodworking town of Betis, Pampanga inspired by the painting of Italian master Gioto. When opened, the door leads to the altar, the main focus of the entire church that perfectly frames the stained glass at the altar which features an image of the Burning Bush and the Hebrew alphabet Aleph. Eitherside of the church are concrete winding staircases which leads to the mezzanine. Under each staircases are confessional booths with a circular window that leads to the view of the landscaped area outside. The church's roof is composed of 13 arches, a symbol for Christ and his twelve apostles. The altar is made from the salvaged Broken Bread altar of the previous church.
The church is often compared to a phoenix that had risen from its ashes; born out of fire, it is an expression of the triumph of faith and hope amidst the tragedy.
